STOCK INDICES ARE BACK THE ON TRUE DOLLAR JOURNAL!

At the end of April last year, Yahoo! pulled the plug on a free CSV-based API, which granted access to free stock exchange data. The True Dollar Journal relied upon Yahoo! for that service.

From April of 2017 until the end of November, the True Dollar Journal limped along with manual updating of data.

I have since located another service, which is highly reliable. Because of this service, many indexes new to the True Dollar Journal will appear on these pages in the coming days.

As well, most of the display errors for indexes have been fixed.

To be sure, all display data for quotes in True Dollars™ are accurate.

The calculations are done automatically by programs written in the Red language for the Red interpreter. Google's Spreadsheet service automatically imports the resulting data files and produces the charts, which you see displayed on The True Dollar Journal.

Since 2016, technical headwinds have hammered The True Dollar Journal. Not only did Yahoo! kill its free data access, but also Google killed its CSV API. Before that, Google killed specialized functionality from its Google Drive service, upon which TDJ relied to shuttle data to spreadsheets.

As well, the old Data Manipulation Engine (DME) had been written in REBOL and relied upon the REBOL interpreter to fetch raw data from various Internet sources. That required functionality stopped working in the REBOL interpreter owing to security certificates.

As the publisher and sole writer of all TDJ works, also, I wear the hats of chief data scientist, system architect and programmer (software engineer for the title-swayed Millennial generation). So, as a one-man operation, sometimes advance becomes stymied. All things considered, as one man, owing to REBOL/Red, Google, the Internet and a few data sources such as the Federal Reserve, I produce the work what would have taken a staff of dozens years ago.

And as always, no one and no site on the Internet has the proprietary method that removes the effects of true inflation (bank credit expansion) in the age of fiduciary monetary systems, but your humble publisher and The True Dollar Journal.
