Every generation has their punk rockers. The Alt-Right are the punk rockers of today.
Over at Breitbart, Allum Bokhari and Milo Yiannopoulos have typed up a masterful work on what is the Alt-Right (see: An Establishment Conservative’s Guide To The Alt-Right)
In many ways, what you are seeing play out for centuries is so-called French Enlightenment with authentic enlightenment — British Enlightenment individualism.
True progress only ever has been about British Enlightenment individualism. Property (right of ownership) is the true source of progress.
So called progressives actually favor retrogression precisely because they support tribalism of various kinds. That is what French Enlightenment is all about — the romanticism of the noble savage and the tribe vibe.
Culture is the nutrient medium of interaction. Culture arises from the codified law and accepted codes of conduct. Many can escape the latter by joining different groups or even imposing self-isolation. No one can escape the former. If lawgivers force you to do business with homos or strip you of your capital (your property put to production), for example, you are left with a tough choice of survival versus your beliefs.
I've been writing about racists for years the organized racists who represent blacks, homosexuals, women, Latinos, Muslims and Jews — the NAACP, Act Up!, NOW, La Raza, CAIR, AIPAC. They are all expressions of French Enlightenment. For more see:
Since the 1970s, these racist groups slowly have gained ground. Yet, it is only in the last decade or so that many of them believe total victory is in sight. Either you get in the race or you become enslaved or worse, die. Hence, you have the rise of the Alt-Right.
If only the Alt-Righters had had good music like Johnny Thunders and The Heartbreakers or the New York Dolls.
