U.S. residents are getting antsy. They want out of their houses and back to their lives.
The data says yes. Nearly one of every four counties has less than 100 deaths. A tad more than one-third have fewer than 250 deaths each.
The SARS-CoV-2 virus mostly is a problem of greater New York City, which includes Long Island, three counties to the north in New York State (Orange, Rockland, Westchester), northern New Jersey and Fairfield county Connecticut. There are a few other hot spots like Greater New Orleans, Greater Detroit and the Hartford, Connecticut to Springfield, Massachusetts region.
Note: Of the three counties with each with a death tally of 1,000 or greater, one is New York City, which comprises five counties: Bronx, Kings, Manhattan, Richmond and Queens.
