BUSH CRONY AND CHRISTIAN POST EXEC EDITOR, A SERPENT IN THE GARDEN OF POLITICS

Today, I came across a horrible, deceptive work in The Christian Post Donald Trump, Bernie Sanders and the Populist Uprising of 2016: What Should Christians Do? by its executive editor, Richard Land. Billed as one of "The Twenty-five Most Influential Evangelicals in America" by Time Magazine, Land is a political crony of former President George W. Bush.

Richard seems to have missed Jesus' simple message all together.

First, Richard typed up a slew of words that failed to answer his question: "What should Christians do?" Yet, Land never truly answers his own posed question. Instead, he slithers in thoughts that he hopes will sway readers.

Second, Richard parrots a false belief about a polarization of Americans into parties rather than the reality of the mass of Americans having dropped out of political participation. Gary Girod at New Geography has debunked the political polarization myth in AMERICAN EXTREMISM IS A PRODUCT OF AMERICAN APATHY.

Third, Christians aren't in "God's Army"  as Richard claims, wrongly. Who could believe that omnipotent, omnipresent God needs an army of puny men?

The Mohammadans ("Muslims") believe that exactly with their deity, The Lah ("Allah"). That is why Mohammadans the earth over engage in jihad and currently are fighting in 95% of the wars among the world (see: Wars in the World, List of Ongoing Conflicts).

Fourth, Richard has it backward exactly when wrongly, Richard claims Christians are in service to God. Jesus is in service to us. God is in service to us. You don't sacrifice your children to God as if God is a petty deity, do you?

God loves each of us so much that God sacrificed his Son to us. Did Richard not read this: "For God so loved the world that He gave the only begotten Son ..."

The true gospel declares forgiveness for all with no religion needed whatsoever. The offer of the gospel is not a conditional pardon that requires man-made religious practice whatsoever, but to the enjoyment of the pardon already given to all of mankind.

You get everlasting life if you believe that Jesus is the son of God and why you have pardon for your sins. You die to eternity if you don't.

To understand the true gospel, read WHY JESUS? WHAT IS THE TRUE GOSPEL? HERE IS THE ONLY GOSPEL FOR EVERY MAN, WOMAN AND CHILD

Fifth, while Jesus died for the world giving everyone a no-strings pardon of all your sins, Jesus instructed each individual to be loving — LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL AND WITH ALL YOUR INTELLECT. LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOUR AS YOURSELF.

No man or woman can love on behalf of another nor for a group of others. It is not up to a man to convince other men belong to a group — "Christians" — and then sway those men to act in concert. Doing that is politics and not following the example of Jesus — an individual showing each individual how to live.

Sixth, C. S. Lewis isn't Jesus. Ignore Richard's repeated fallacy of appeal to authority by his citations of C. S. Lewis.

Seventh, Richard commits the fallacy of consensus gentium as well as ad hominem when he writes, "Surely all Christians of good will can agree ..." In his statement, Richard has implied that only malevolent Christians would disagree with him.

I disagree wholeheartedly with Richard. Yet, I am good with Jesus.

Eight, Richard engages in an underhanded attack against fellow Christian Donald Trump when Richard writes, "That means at the very minimum, you acknowledge that personally you have sinned against God and, under moral conviction, you confess your sins to Him and ask for His forgiveness."

Richard has done exactly what his friend George W. Bush's brother has done. For video of Jeb Bush attacking a fellow Christian, see JEB BUSH CONDEMNS HIS NEIGHBOR, DONALD TRUMP.

Richard Land seemingly has such a misunderstanding of the simple message of the Gospel. Richard claims that all must confess their sins. Yet, you don't find Jesus saying so. Jesus revealed that becoming loving is the way.

The apostle John said that "If we acknowledge our sins, He is faithful and to expel our sins, and to purify us from all unrighteousness. If we that we have committed sin, we Him false. and we are not with His message" (John in 1 John 1:9-10).

Here, John means that if we acknowledge to ourselves that we sin. In no way does John mean that if we acknowledge our acts to an all-knowing, always-present God who knows our action already.

For it is only when anyone recognizes that he needs to change his ways does the beginning of change happen.

Guys like Land preach a false gospel. The offer of the gospel is not a conditional pardon that requires man-made religious practice whatsoever, but to the enjoyment of the pardon already given to all of mankind.

Now, what should anyone do if he wants to be sure he can strive in his individual effort to live as Jesus revealed?

If anyone is inclined to vote, she or he should vote for the candidate who will strive to maximize freedom — the realm where lawmakers are content not to make law and thus not to impose duty and grant right. If that is too complicated for you to understand, anyone should vote for the guy who will maximize personal liberty and thus by extension, religious liberty.

Mohammadans are against both. So any candidate who would increase Mohammadan immigration would be one for whom no one should vote.

So any candidate who would attack your living standard and make you more dependent upon Congress to survive will be the candidate who further erodes your personal liberty and thus by extension, religious liberty.

Candidates who would open the borders and flood the USA with more workers who undercut wages; candidates who would negotiate trade deals that serve the interest of a few at the expense of working-class Americans; candidates who would support a massive increase in work visas such as the H-1B program — these are the candidates who would put in jeopardy your political liberty and thus your religious liberty.
